Lunch at Mt. Tabor (Taken with instagram)
I spent my lunch at Mt. Tabor today. Sometimes it’s necessary to escape. To look at the world outside of what seems so important in our little worlds that we live in as individuals. To step outside our problems— the problems of maybe failing to communicate or confronting what needs to be confronted—and look at the world for what it is. Yeah I got a lot going on right now. That being said, there is nothing more cathartic than sitting and observing. Wether it’s observing people at the airport, or a people while shopping or simply sitting in nature and looking how small we are in relative perspective to the multi-universes we live in. And, taking time to paint that is my way of stepping outside of the world I live in and be present. To bigger and better things. Peace,John

Barview Jetty. Cold day painting.. I got some nice shots today of a monolith that will hopefully make a nice large painting.

Windy day over at the Oregon Coast. My easel kept blowing back and forth while I painted,  making working a little difficult. However, I’ve noticed this bald eagle hovering over me the past couple trips, which seems like a nice friend to have while out on the water. I just wish I had his view.

Painting on the Oregon Coast at Oswald State Park. The weather has been really nice for Spring on the coast. Orchids are in bloom, the light is fleeting, and there is too much to paint. Wish I was staying here a month.

Painting at Sauvie Island. It was beautiful day to paint with the prehistoric sounds of Sandhill Cranes in the distance and a pair of Bald Eagles presumably mating flying above.

The shadows of the day lengthen.
The warmth leaves the day,
From gold to rust to crimson,
Glistening the tops of trees.
The evening freeze begins.
